MIXERS for Hire

We carry three basic types of mixer at Jonathans Audio, two types will be covered here. Firstly we have Sound Desks, DJ  Mixers and then PA mixers. The last type are covered on the Public Address pages, to be made available in early 2004

Sound Desks

I have been using Soundcraft desks since they first came on the scene in the 70's, & I see no reason to change. I still think that the best analogue desks in the World are UK designed & made, especially when it comes to the pre-amps and EQ. So when it came to specifying the sound desks for Jonathans Audio hire stock, Spirit Folio, Soundcraft came to mind first.

Live 3.16

Spirit Live 3.16
16 channels mic/line

Almost bullet-proof reliability, awesome sound depths, acres of control. When driven
properly these are among the best sounding FOH desks ever built. For a four or five piece band, or most stage productions, this is the beast. No, it's not small, compact isn't the game, and it doesn't have loads of built-in effects. If you want to turn up at the gig, rig a stage and get cracking, use a
Live 3.16. Set the input levels, and your away. The famous Soundcraft 'English' 4 stage EQ allows an engineer worth his salt, to get a 'real' sound from almost any performance. With balance this good, an engineer can gain as much by losing a tiny amount of EQ rather than piling it on for effect as you have to with some other mixers. When the flight case top comes off one of these, most engineers start grinning. Day Rate: £40.00

Rac-Pac

Spirit-Folio. Rac-Pac.
10 Mic/Line channels. 2 stereo returns. 4 groups

This is the most popular desk we have ever hired. No longer made, unfortunately, so easy to use it hurts. For small venue productions, schools etc, it is almost impossible to replace. Soundcraft reliability, bags of overhead, and simplicity in use, makes the old Rac-Pac a firm favourite. To be replaced by the F16.  Day rate: £26.00
