digital mixers do it all and in smaller packages, I know that some newer mixers have loads of audio effects built-in, but as a sound engineer, I keep on coming back to superb tools like the Studio-16LC. You can call it

Powered Mixers

This sub-set of the mixer selection tends to change regularly, except for a basic pairing. Both are Soundcraft (as if you couldn't guess). The two industry standards are without question the ever useful 'Powerpad' and the master of all of the genre, the Powerstation.

POWERPAD

Essentially this is a Soundcraft Folio 'Notepad' with a couple of 30w amplifiers built into the base.  Four mono inputs and two stereo channels. With both balanced & un-balanced inputs available on xlr or jack
sockets. With built-in 48v phantom power & up to 68db gain. Along with the ever present  Soundcraft EQ and an FX return, this American style mixer is found a home all over a stage and in a studio or for small
presentation use. Never out of work, this gem of a design must be in use all over the World, day in, night out
